domain.com/?year=2015 in url is converting to domain.com/date/2015

    Hello,

    I have a site which is based in wordpress. I have some php that reads any parameters in the url, one of them being “year”. However wordpress appears to be reading the year variable in the url and converting it to a directory structure which does not exist in the site. How can I stop this?

    I have tried removing all themes and plugins and it is still happening so it must be something to do with wordpress itself.

    I have custom permalinks set up but nothing to do with the year, only post id.

    I think it had to do with the custom permalinks. I set it to the default and the problem went away.
