Domain URL Redirecting Only To WP Folder

All,

I’ve a WP Blog installed in mydomain.com/blog/

When I enter the above url it resolves as expected.

Yet, I’ve now uploaded other folders and html pages mydomain.com/folder1/index.hmtl etc.

Yet when I type the url mydomain.com/folder1/*.html it resolves only to the blog homepage mydomain/blog/ . Yet the page obviously exists.

I’m not sure what I need to do so that I can navigate and resolve to mydomain.com/folder1/*.html

I need to access this new folder and page. Yet, even if I type the url mydomain.com/folder1/ it resolves to mydomain/blog/

Any ideas?
