• Hi everyone,

Ever since I installed the Yoast SEO, my home page had some kind of 301 redirect.
The home page should be https://www.swjoyoflife.com or swjoyoflife.com but now whenever I put that address, it is automatically turned into https://www.swjoyoflife.com/?v=d02a78d2631d

Does anyone know how to get rid of the at the end ?v=d02a78d2631d?

I never had this problem before until a week ago shortly after I installed the SEO and watched some tutorials on Youtube on how to set it up.

Please help! Thank you in advance!

If I remember correctly, it’s related to woocommerce plugin. You can check if you deactivate Yoast SEO plugin.

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/

Try to set Geolocate address instead Geolocate with page caching support (Woocommerce -> Settings -> Default Customer Address)

    Hi Sasa,

Thank you for the reply but I just checked and it is in Geolocate with page caching support already so that might not be the problem.

    Thanks,
    Judy

If you’ve selected Geolocate with page caching support, then it’s the issue. It’s strange, but then Woo addes query_string to prevent page caching.

Please select Geolocate address, then try again (clear browser cache
before). I know that you are confused, but please try.

    Please read more at https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/configuring-woocommerce-settings/:

      Default Customer Address
Choose the location we assume site visitors are in, before they enter it, to calculate tax and shipping.

    • Shop base address tells the system to assume they are in the same location as your shop.
    • No address gives them no location, and no taxes are calculated.
    • Geolocate address verifies where their current location and calculate taxes accordingly.
    • Geolocate with page caching support is the same as above, but does the geolocation via Ajax. You may notice your website URLs have a ?v=xxxxx appended to them. This is normal to prevent static caching of prices.

I just want to remove all the redirect to speed up site speed, should I go to another forum for help?

I just tried it your way but it still comes up like https://www.swjoyoflife.com/?v=f003c44deab6 but with different ending after v=

Remove the following redirect chain if possible:
    https://www.swjoyoflife.com/
    https://www.swjoyoflife.com/
    https://www.swjoyoflife.com/?v=f003c44deab6
Remove the following redirect chain if possible:
    https://shop.pe/widget/widget_async.js
    https://d3rr3d0n31t48m.cloudfront.net/widget/widget_async.js

Basically, it isn’t related to Yoast SEO plugin.

I see that first case is fine now. You have set force SSL and http -> https is normal behaviour. I don’t see that woocommerce redirects now. (Maybe it’s cached somewhere – change browser). Anyway, you should ask on woocommerce forum if you still see redirects.

Second website, it’s related to cache or CDN settings. I can’t say more because it isn’t WP website, so you have to ask somewhere else for more details.
