• Hello all,

I know that this is not really related to WordPress but I have exhausted every other resource before coming to the WordPress forum. This issue is going to be a little hard to describe so I hope that I describe it correctly.

I am using the latest release of WordPress.

I have a client that I’m building a simple website for and then will be hosting the site. The domain name for the site is stphilipindy.org. The client is going to be hosting the DNS and I will be hosting the site through my web host. I really wanted to host the DNS but, unfortunately, the client didn’t want to do it this way. They have the DNS configured to allow for https://www.stphilipindy.org and stphilipindy.org. While on the clients network, however, sites must use www before the domain name. The site is working fine anywhere you try to view it except when inside the client network. When on the client network, if you go to https://www.stphilipindy.org, it will translate to stphilipindy.org. This causes the site to not work on their network. I have worked with my host’s technical support on this issue and they say that there is nothing that they can do to help with this because it is an issue with the DNS. And since the DNS is not hosted by them, there is nothing they can do. I agree completely with them. When I talk with the client, they tell me that the DNS is configured correctly but it’s still not working. So, I guess what I’m trying to accomplish is to get the domain to not translate to stphilipindy.org if https://www.stphilipindy.org is used.

If I haven’t completely confused everyone, would anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to resolve this issue? Is it possible that this is something that can be controlled with WordPress? I’m fairly certain that the answer is going to be no, but I’ve exhausted all of my other resources.

Thanks for any help you can give.
