• In changing the domain name of my Website, I encountered many problems, most of which are “hopefully” fixed. The remaining problem that I know of, is that in entering the site, my zone alarm firewall tells me the website is suspicious and that I should “leave now”… not a very good selling point. I suspect that there is some missing link between the new and old name and so it appears fraudulent, but I really don’t have enough experience to make such a call. Yesterday, I opened the site from another computer (that didn’t have zone alarm) and it made a similar comment, something about the website not being trustworthy or requesting information in an unusaul way. Again, these are all things to send people away, kicking and screaming. Any help would be of great value to me. I know that yous are donating your time and I appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    René

  • So what did you do to change the domain name?

I went through the steps with techs from Godaddy. I basically changed it all from within their system, went into Database/MySQL , then into PhpMyAdmin where i manually changed the old name to the new name. I did likewise in WordPress (at least in all the places I could find), and everything seems to work fine apart from the security issue. Now one thing I just noticed is that the old name is still in my account in Godaddy. Maybe I should delete it?
