Domain name change?

  • i have started my blog in wordpress. Is it possible to change the domain name without having a webhost but still use wordpress?

    i am not technical so if possible i need a step-by-step guide please. thanks!

  • To have your own domain name, it must be hosted somewhere. So you must have a webhost to keep all the files that make up your site. I think that the short, non-technical answer to your question is: “no”.

    This might be one solution if I understand what you mean:

    You could create a free blog at wordpress.com with the name you want and then import the data from your current wordpress site.

    If you want to keep your domain name for the blog, then most hosts offer URL forwarding.
