Domain mapping with multisite

    My eyes are starting to bleed after reading through page after page of documentation and the many different ways the domain mapping screen has moved/changed since 3.0 (I spent way too much time looking for what a Super Admin was).

    I’m trying to set up a multisite blog with separate domains for each blog. I have my main one at kylebuis.com and I’m trying to get a second one going at barelyrelated.com. Barelyrelated.com points to the Barelyrelated testing homepage just fine. However, when I click on the posts, they show up as

    https://kylebuis.com/testing/2012/07/20/hello-world/

    How can I get it to become https://barelyrelated.com/2012/07/20/hello-world/ when I click on the blog entry titles?

    The domain mapping screen hasn’t changed that much.

    Did you set up barelyrelated.com as your primary domain for that site?

    It was not before, but I’ve changed it back and forth with various degrees of waiting and it’s still the same. I have the feeling it’s some small, stupid thing I missed somewhere, but I can’t seem to fine it.

    Well the domain maps right for the sites, and if you go directly to hello-world, it’s fine. So make sure primary mapping is ticked on ??

    Gonna feel like a smart one here. Domain mapping was on. I just didn’t activate the plug in. Thanks for all the help and the help you’re giving every one else on here.

    I’m trying to set up a multisite with separate blogs and each with a different domain and can relate to spiffking03’s bleeding eyes.

    Is there a simple step by step tutorial somewhere that demonstrates how to do it with the current version of WP and the Plug-In? Similar to this but not outdated. And maybe with sample text filled in.

    Hint: Write a blog post about this with screenshots and get massive traffic.

    The standard settings (checkmarks) seem to directly oppose most recommendations I find online.

    Does the 5th option has any effect if each domain is mapped to a separate blog?

    5. Disable primary domain check. Sites will not redirect to one domain name. May cause duplicate content issues.

    I want them to be like independent websites, as if they were hosted on separate servers, no duplicate content but I might refer to one on the other.

    Might seem trivial to someone who already understands the process but enough has changed to confuse a newcomer.
