    Hi Ron,

I have multisite setup, and I’ve added the additional separate domain (not subdomains) for the sites I’m running.

I’ve configured the plugin to for CNAME using the primary domain of the WordPress instance e.g. https://www.myblogs.com

There is a subdomain for each site e.g. site1.myblogs.com

I’ve created CNAME where https://www.mysite1.com maps to site1.myblogs.com

    But it doesn’t work.

    Please help.

That field is only for user reference (in the user domain mapping tool). It has no effect on the functioning of the plugin.

    But it doesn’t work.

    Can you clarify what happens?

    Hi Ron,

It redirects to some random page belonging to the web hosting company, not to the subsite on the subdomain.

If we can have a private/direct discussion, not on the forum, I can share actual domain names, etc

    I have a similar problem.
First I put the domain2.co with just an A pointing to the main site IP, but nothing happened. Then I tried everything, I put it as an addon domain, nothing, I created dns1.domain.co and dns2.domain.co and set the domain2.co with those. All I got from A pointing and CNAME was a hosting screen saying the DNS was bad.
I deleted it all and parked (alias) the domain2, it sent to the main domain just fine, but parked is just like redirection, one type the adress and then is sent to another, and I want the mapping in MU so the person can only see the typed URL.
I tried to reach for my hosting, but they don’t seem to understand what I need, or I don’t know what I need, they said to addon the domain2 and just redirect it.

@lucifer79 – you need to park the mapped domain onto your WP install in your web account control panel.

@nadjavoss – “but parked is just like redirection” – normally parked domains do not redirect. Check to see if there is a redirection somewhere in the web account or DNS for the domain.
