Domain mapping has gone very wrong
-
OK so I used to blog at https://dawniebrown.wordpress.com and I got a domain through wordpress so it was then https://kneesupmotherbrown.me
I decided to go self hosted so I set up a self hosted blog under my business hosting package here https://www.abcnortheast.co.uk/kneesupmotherbrown (I couldn’t just transfer my domain over as 123-reg wouldn’t let me transfer over a .me domain)
So then all I needed to do was map my kneesupmotherbrown.me domain to my self hosted blog location. I tried changing the nameservers but it didn’t work and after speaking to 123-reg they said I needed to add A records to the DNS instead to redirect to an IP address.
So I added an A www IP record which now sends https://www.kneesupmotherbrown.me to my self hosted blog but I can’t seem to enter an A record that will get just kneesupmotherbrown.me to go there aswell – instead if you go to kneesupmotherbrown.me it still directs you to https://dawniebrown.wordpress.com
So current situation is that if you go to https://www.kneesupmotherbrown.me you get mapped to my self hosted blog and if you go to https://kneesupmotherbrown you get sent to my wordpress.com hosted blog?
Any ideas anyone as I don’t seem to be getting answers from support on either side ??
