    hy,
    i can see that the mapping plugin works in your page – you have it set up nicely to separate the two areas of your website.

    according to your screenshot you can only enter domains on the left side of the mapping input – without additional slugs. all sub-uris of these mappings will be mapped automatically. you will have to choose a permalink structure that fits to the mapping. it happens sometimes that users try it like you did so we will make it more clear in future releases ??

    please report back if everything works as expected afterwards.

    Okay I’m not sure if I completely understood what you meant, but this seems to have resolved the issue. I just stripped the custom post type slug from the used domain name.

    Side note @matthiaswagner Don’t do that, OK? These forums are not for signatures and they sure aren’t for getting traffic.

    NOTE: I assume you have good intentions but really, don’t do that again.

    All I want is for all the pages and custom posts of type of soscp to be used by soscp domain.

    The pages work because literally every page for soscp is a child of about-soscp, hence why i’m using “/about-soscp”. But I also need the custom posts of soscp to work. Obviously custom posts cannot be made children of a page though. This is my confusion.

    So it can’t be either or, I need to allow both. That’s why my original intention of using soscp.org/soscp <-> solovethisplace.ca/soscp was to have every soscp post under soscp.org/soscp. This DID change the links for posts but unfortunately the actual page wouldn’t be found and failed to load (so for example some page with links to posts for soscp had soscp.org/soscp/some-post-title-here as the href instead of solovethisplace.ca/soscp/some-post-title-here but when you clicked them the page didn’t exist). So what is the solution?

    I’ve reverted changes, now my only two entries are
    https://soscp.org <-> solovethisplace.ca/about-soscp
    https://www.soscp.org <-> solovethisplace.ca/about-soscp

    As you can see if you visit this page https://soscp.org/news-events/top-news-stories/
    and investigate any of those article links the href’s are using solovethisplace.ca. I need those post links to use the domain soscp.org.

    Thanks for your help.

    hy,
    you’ve already found the point… you can only map a permalink structure that is also possible in wordpress without the plugin. all child-uris are mapped per default, this can not be disabled.

    the left side of the mapping input is only applicable for the domain, as you have it already now. for the right side you will have to decide what you want to map to be the new “root” of the addon-domain.

    you could try to change your permalink-structure in wordpress settings to /about-soscp/stories/%postname%/ or something like that, but i am not sure if it will work without problems. best is to try it out without mapping and if you have a working permalink-structure, then set the mapping…
