Domain Mapping / changinmg just A record

    Trying to arrange domain mapping for my blog as I want to use my own domain name.
    Domain managers say that changing name servers will result in them giving control of domain to wordpress.com and they don’t wish to do this and have suggested simply changing A record…but for that I would need an IP address for my blog (which I gather I cant get/)

    I dont see the issue with changing name servers…can someone advise?
