• I want to make sure i understand this concept…

what i am trying to accomplish

    i have a website mysite.com
i created a multisite using subfolders so i have mysite.com/site1

with that said i create a page called bio so it looks like mysite.com/site1/bio

    i own a domain mydomain.com

instead of going to mysite.com/site1/bio i want to go to mydomain.com/bio

is this attainable? is this what domain mapping is, and what do i set name servers and such to on my domain so it points to mysite.com

can someone help me understand. thank you so much!!!

So long as you want everything at mysite.com/site1 to go to mydomain.com instead, yes, this is exactly what domain mapping does ??

You would, outside of WP, park or otherwise add the mydomain.com (i.e. your mapped domain name) to your server, so it points to where mysite.com is located. Note: DO NOT point it to mysite.com/site1, WP will handle that.

Then in WP you install the mapping plugin and tell it what your server’s IP is. Then you can map domains and tell them ‘mydomain.com pull the data from /site1’ and so on ??
