    Hi – this is the first WordPress blog I have created. So very much on a learning curve. I have created a theme based on my main site and I have added a WordPress blog in a sub folder (https://acumenrealestate.com/blog/) and designed it so it look similar to the main website (which currently resides in the subdomain /wipweb/ as all still in development). It is hosted by GoDaddy who say they can’t help me and to try here.

    In https://acumenrealestate.com/blog/ when I click on the Permenent Link to WordPress Post using this link at the top (for example) “WordPress Post” it puts in the domain path twice (i.e. https://acumenrealestate.com/https://acumenrealestate.com/blog/?p=31). It does this for all Permalinks.

    I have searched my *.php files and cannot find anything that would do this. I have amended the Permalink setting in WordPress Admin back to default (just in case), removed and reactivated the Theme. I am now at a loss and was wondering what could be doing this and where to begin looking?

    I’d be greatful for any help at all. Thank you.

    If you look in your Control Panel, under Settings > General

    What have you got as your WordPress address (URL) and Site address (URL)?

    Hi, thanks for helping.

    I have https://acumenrealestate.com/blog in both. Looking at it because it says Enter the address here if you want your site homepage to be different from the directory you installed WordPress – I wonder if I should have nothing in the Site address.

    Thanks again, Lindsay

    no – don’t mess with the 2 url’s

    sounds more like your permalink has the url in it – can’t do that

    Hi Samuel, thanks so much for trying to help. I’ve looked at your link. It is really helpful but I have reverted to the defualt setting in Permalink in the dashboard, just to take out any variables. But I still have the issue. It’s driving me slowly mad as just can’t see where it is getting the information from.

    Thanks again for your time. Lindsay

    any plugins added that may be causing trouble?

    Hi Samuel, I tried de-activating all. Still an issue though.

    Where would it pick up the path for the Permalink? Is it in the backend database or somewhere in a *.php file that I might have missed.

    Thank you again for your continued help.

    Hi guys. All my fault, thanks for trying to help. Just incase it helps someone else in the future the solution was in the index.php file, I’d missed it.

    Originally a href=”../<?php the_permalink() ?>” rel=”bookmark”
    Now a href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>” rel=”bookmark” i.e. I’ve removed ../

    Thanks again for all your help. Made me feel like someone was on my side as I was trying to work it out.

    Lindsay.

    well – wow – good catch
