I have the situation where I may only manage the website for a client and not the domain or MX records.

I created a generic email address through our company domain and loaded the SPF and Dmarc records. We then use these details in the other SMTP details. I can see a valid SPF record and DMARC record when we run a DNS search in MXtoolbox. However it still throws the following error:

    Domain Check Results

    SPF
Action Needed: It doesn’t look like the SPF record required by your SMTP server has been added to your domain. Please contact your SMTP server provider for details on how to find the SPF record, and how to add this record to your domain’s DNS.

    DMARC
Action Recommended: It doesn’t look like DMARC has been set up on your domain (susankingston.co.nz). We recommend using the DMARC protocol because it helps protect your domain from unauthorized use. Please check out our step by step guide for details on how to add this record to your domain’s DNS.

Please can you advise how I can resolve this – I will need to use our own SMTP settings for a lot of customers to get email working on forms going forward.
