Hello, I have a site that uses emails from a different domain on their forms.
The company has multiple domains and only use 1 set of emails for all of them.
I have activated MailPoet’s sending service for them, but the emails are still going to spam.
For this reason, I want to authenticate the domain on the MailPoet account, but I am unsure which domain to authenticate since the website uses a different domain than the email sending domain.

    Let’s say the domain is : website.com
but the email they want to send from is : email.com

Do I add the authentication DNS records on website.com or email.com?

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi there @enzeedigital,

You would need to add the DNS records for the domain of the email address you are going to be sending from — i.e. if you are sending FROM [email protected], then you would verify the email.com domain: https://kb.mailpoet.com/article/295-spf-dkim-dmarc#set-up-dkim-for-your-domain-when-using-the-mss

That said, in general if someone signs up for a mailing list on website.com, and then starts receiving emails from [email protected], that can increase the chances that they will just flag those emails as SPAM if they don’t recognize the email address’s domain. For that reason, I’d recommend making sure it’s super clear on the subscription forms that they should expect to receive emails from an address on that other domain

Hello! thank you for your reply. Ok, awesome thats clear enough! ??

And thanks for the extra advice! It’s actually currently not used for sending out newsletters, It’s only being used for form entries and the emails go to internal emails, but they have been ending up in spam.. But, it’s good to know this for future reference!

Thanks again and have a great day ahead!
