• Hello,
I want to know if it’s possible to map a sub-directory with a unique domain name and also have permalinks for this domain without multi-site. Here is my example.

    Main Site: example.com
    Sub Directory: example.com/testing

Redirect through host testing.com to example.com/testing

If someone visits testing.com it redirects to example.com/testing perfectly. What I would like to do is somehow make testing.com show in the browser while on the page while also being able to create permalinks that show testing.com as the domain.

    Is this possible?

  • Yes, If I understand your question. I do this all the time. I created a sub directory, installed WP in that directory to. Create your pages that you want. Go back to your Main domain and set “Custom” menu options to point to the other Sub-Domain pages. You do need to remember to change the menu in the second domain to take you back to the first domain when you go Home or any other pages that reside on domain 1.

I use this to migrate from an old site to a new site. I can change one page at a time that way.
    Hope this helps.

That’s definitely an option to accomplish what I’m trying to accomplish. I appreciate it.
