    Hi All,

I am creating a wordpress site at the moment which I do not want anyone to be able to see before it’s fully completed (and I transfer the domain). I want to do all SEO etc now, but keep Google from listing any of the webpage listings.

Am I right in thinking that because I have clicked the:

“Search Engine Visibility Discourage search engines from indexing this site
It is up to search engines to honor this request.”

Section – even if I do SEO for each page etc the pages won’t be shown until I’m ready to launch the site?

Also – what is the best way to do SEO on wordpress – using Yoast??

    Thanks!

    S

Put password protection on your site and you will block google out.

    Hi ,

You just have to Goto your Cpanel & Upload Robots.txt

Write in that text file :

    Useragent : *
    Disallow : /

This will block Google and all other crawlers to crawl your website & once your on page Seo gets finished you can remove “/” from the robots.txt

Upload robots.txt in Root folder of your website https://www.domain.com/robots.txt

    OR

Put No index , Nofollow Meta robots Tag on every page in the wordpress admin panel this will block indexing of ur pages on google.
