Doesn't work with WordPress Importer

When I import XML when “Menu Icons” is active I get “Are you sure you want to do this?” message. It fails on an attempt to import the first menu item. It fails at the very bottom of
wp_update_nav_menu_item()in /wp-includes/nav-menu.php which triggerswp_update_post().
When plugin is deactivated importing works.
