• Tried everything and it doesn’t change the layout of the blog archive – the best part of the plugin. I turned it off and nothing changed.

***Update*** the developer helped me figure out that you shouldn’t use the blog template in wordpress but rather use static pages all the time. This is now working as it should. I’m giving 5 stars for the quickness and expertise this developer brought to the table. The plugin is cool but his response was so much better.

I just tested this plugin using the Genesis Altitute Pro child theme and it works fine.

Are you sure you’re using the actual WordPress blog page? Genesis includes a page template called “Blog” which you should not use. This plugin does not work on custom page templates – only the actual archive pages in WordPress.

Please test this again and update your rating when you are able to confirm it works.

When I switched it, the plugin worked fine but then my home page turned into the grid. I need the parallax static page that altitude provides. The only way I have been able to have the blog and the static front page was to use the blog template.

This is because you have your blog configured to appear on the front page.

    Do the following:
    1. Go to Pages > Add New and create a page called “Home” and “Blog”
    2. Go to Settings > Reading. Set “Home” to be the front page, and “Blog” to be the posts page

Ahhhh, ok, thanks. I didn’t realize that I had to associate a home page with this theme. All good now. Working as detailed. I’ll update my rating. Thanks for this.

As an aside, I used to use a plugin years ago called Genesis Post Teasers that had some really great features like being able to show different excerpt lengths, play with the css, etc. Not sure if you ever considered incorporating any of this in your plugin but it would be awesome if you did. Genesis Post Teasers appears to have been abandoned for whatever reason so I don’t know if these features just became incompatible with modern versions of WP.
