• Is there something extra I need to do to get this to work with buddypress? Maybe a setting I’m overlooking somewhere? When I log in, it will only take me to my homepage.

This is working now. It doesn’t work when using the Buddypress Login Widget. But I switched to the Login with Ajax widget and it works. It also works on /wp-login.php

When I activate BBpress, the redirect stops working. This is through the /wp-login.php screen, not a widget.

Which version of Login With Ajax, bbPress and WordPress are you using?

    WP: 4.8
    BB: 2.5.13
    Login: 3.1.7

Here’s a screenshot of all of my plugins: https://imgur.com/a/dYSBB

According to your screenshot, there are two other login redirect plugins running. Have you tried testing with those deactivated?

    They’re installed, but not activated.

It’s possible this is a conflict caused by your theme or another plugin. To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?

I tried disabling all other plugins and leaving only bbpress, buddypress, and visual composer activated, and switched to twenty seventeen theme, but the issue is still there. The issue is definitely with BBPress – When I deactivate bbpress, the redirect works correctly no matter what other plugins are installed. When I activate bbpress, the redirect stops working.

I haven’t been able to replicate this. Can you test with Visual Composer deactivated?

Which redirect are you using (the setting and URL structure)?

Ok, here’s the weird thing – It works if I login through the shortcode on a page, and it works if I log in through /wp-login.php as long as BBpress is deactivated.

I can log in through the shortcode with BBpress active.

Is there a way to make it so people won’t try to log in through /wp-login.php and only use the login provided through the shortcode?

Not in the plugin settings. You’d probably have to use custom code or an additional plugin to do that kind of redirect.
