Hi @efilipe,
Thanks for your review, though I’m sorry to hear things haven’t worked out for you.
While it’s true that the [tribe_events] shortcode is not available within The Events Calendar itself it’s also worth pointing out that – for most people – it isn’t even needed (we have had hundreds of thousands of active installs to our name since before that shortcode even became available).
I would also emphasize that you absolutely do not need the paid version: The Events Calendar should work just fine without Events Calendar PRO or any of our other premium plugins. If you need one of the specific features those premium addons provide, of course, that’s a different matter – but they certainly are not essential if all you need is a basic, reliable calendar plugin.
I have tried everything so the calendar would come back again
I’m unsure what caused this problem (and best I can tell you haven’t posted a support topic about this, either) but in no way is this an attempt to have you upgrade to a premium plugin. If things don’t work currently, it’s probably because of a local conflict and I’d recommend solving that in the first instance.
Should it help, you can try these steps:
- With The Events Calendar activated, visit Settings → Permalinks (but change nothing) – then try reloading the main calendar view – does that solve the problem?
- If it doesn’t, you could follow these more in-depth troubleshooting steps
Once again, I’m sorry you had a bad experience and I’m particularly sad that you’ve formed the impression we want to “force” people to purchase our premium plugins. Naturally, we’re delighted when our customers choose to buy from us – but we also want The Events Calendar to be a solid, cost free offering suitable for all (and strongly believe that is the case).
