• Hi,
I am using the Shortcode in Menus plugin in combination with yours.
    – The menu item with the shortcode does not follow the settings of the Menu Bar.

    – I have added sub menu items with shortcodes as well. But the entire sub menu doesn’t show.

    How can this be resolved?

I also notice that when I assign Visibility rules (through the If Menu plugin) it’s no longer considered to be a top level menu item, and the sub menu display mode can not be set.

That means that I first have to set the display mode + adding the sub menu items, and then set the visibility rules. Every time I need to change the sub menu items, I first have to disable the visibility rules. Is this by design? Or is this a bug?

    Looking forward to your help.
    Thanks!

    Hi eddypiv,

You would need to ask the Shortcodes in menu plugin to add compatibility with MMM, there’s nothing in our plugin that specifically stops it from working but they would need to add compatibility from their end. It is possible to use shortcodes in menu items using the Replacements feature in Pro, also.

I have not tried the If Menu plugin, but the same would apply. I do know the Nav Menu Roles plugins does a similar thing and works well with MMM. Again we have Roles functionality in Pro.

Actually, I have your Pro version but didn’t want to buy a new license if I can achieve the same with free plugins.
So I used the Pro version in staging installation, deactivated all other plugins then yours and MetaBox (as I use an MB shortcode) and got back to a default wordpress theme.

    I have 4 scenario’s in the menu:
1 – the òriginal scenario: top level with shortcode through (deactivated) Shortcode in Menus plugin, sub menu display mode = standard layout, + 3x submenu items Textbased with MB-shortcodes
2 – the new scenario: top level with shortcode through replacement, + 3x submenu items all with shortcode through replacement
3 – alternative scenario: top level as 2, submenu items as 1
4 – just top level with shortcode through replacement, no sub menus.

See the screen recording for set up and results: https://t.ly/65gDW

    My observations:
    1. Using shortcode though replacement at top level does not follow the settings of Menu Themes.
    2. Using shortcode though replacement at top level does not support submenu items to be shown.

Sorry, can’t make it any nicer, but my conclusion is that there’s something wrong with how the plugin handles shortcode through replacenment.

Can you pls look into this?
    Thanks

Actually, my observations are identical to the issues I raised at the beginning.
So nothing wrong with Shortcodes in Menus plugin, it’s within the MMM plugin.

I can’t see it any otherwise.

    Hi eddypiv,

If you need help with the shortcodes in menu plugin, you would need to contact the authors of that plugin – as I mentioned previously there’s nothing in MMM that would specifically prevent it from working, but it sounds like they need to add compatibility. My guess is it is replacing the whole link, which controls the sub menu, and not just the title text itself.

Unfortunately we cannot discuss Pro functionality on these forums. You are welcome to ask through https://www.megamenu.com/support – a valid licence will be needed. If you are having trouble renewing, you can contact us there and we will be able to help.

What I’m saying is that the Shortcode plugin was deactiatved as well. Only your plugins and MetaBox were active. So no need to talk to de shortcoder plugin, same happens without it.

You’re right, I will take this issue further in the Pro support. Expect they will take it seriously.

    Thanks for now.
