Doesn’t work for area, just specific location

  • Couldn’t get the plugin to recognise my business, so contacted the devs. They said it was a problem at Google’s end and the plugin worked perfectly. The fact the GMB account exists, can take reviews, and existing reviews can be seen on Google causes me to doubt this. If you have a fixed location, the plugin may work for you, but if you cover a service area, don’t bother trying.

    We’re disappointed that you didn’t even bother to read our support response, where it was described in detail why this is not supported by Google (NOT THE PLUGIN), so I’ll duplicate this response below, maybe it will helpful to other users.

    Here is your Place ID of your Google location: ChIJE9T6fzq6TSMRyxNir9nEvmc.

    The plugin uses official public Google Places API (not crawler) to get reviews and URL for that API is:

    https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/details/json?placeid=ChIJE9T6fzq6TSMRyxNir9nEvmc&key=API_KEY

    Just replace in this URL API_KEY to your own and you see that instead of reviews you get error message (screenshot below). But if you add the physical address to this Google place, the API URL above will return the reviews.
