Since the last update one month ago it doesn’t work anymore. No results are collected/displayed in backend. (But I am not sure if it’s a conflict with another [woocommerce-]plugin.

And also: If I uncheck “Allow “other” option?” there’s no change/effect on the front end.

You can test it here: juiced.de/shop/

Edit: I am using WooCommerce Version 2.5.5 and WordPress 4.4.2.

I second the above – I am using this plugin on two sites with the following configuration:

Site one: WordPress 4.5 with WooCommerce 2.5.5.
Site two: WordPress 4.4.2 with WooCommerce 2.5.3.

The options are showing in WooCommerce > Accounts for both sites but nothing is displayed on the front-end.

I doubt it is to do with the above versions of WordPress or WooCommerce as I am sure it used to work on site two.. and in answer to your next question, no new plugins and/or updates have been added/applied recently.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

After a little bit of testing I see now that it is no longer displayed to existing users.

A quick test creating a test user shows the dropdown as normal as per the changelog 1.4.3 (2015-10-15) “Prevents asking the “Where did you hear about us?” question more than one time for the same user.”

Hopefully this will answer any other users wondering where it has gone.

As an addition to this – if a new user does not answer the question, and I have not made it a required field – how then do you re-show it to said user or for any other users that have not yet answered?

I assume the default reply would be to make it a required field, hence making sure it is answered but I honestly don’t like the thought of making it required before anything can be purchased from my site(s)…

Maybe add a toggle to the admin options allowing us to enable/disable this ‘new’ feature?

@jdaniel, I see your issue has been resolved when checking your website. It would be cool if you would share what went wrong to help other users.

@tinnyfusion, please make a new topic when you are facing a problem, it’s hard to answer and very messy for other users. To answer your 2 questions:

    1. Hidden select input:
Could you provide us with some more details? Do you have a version of your site online? I bet it’s your theme that is hiding all fields at checkout to replace them with other styled fields.

    2. Asking the same question to the same user:
We stopped showing the same field for several reasons:
-No need to ‘annoy’ your customers several times for the same question. It drops conversions.
-If they don’t fill in once, what would them let it fill in the next time?
-We’re giving the choice of saving the referring source at the user profile, but also at the order itself. That makes it hard to check all previous orders in terms of performance.
-We want to make a clean/lean plugin that ‘just works’. For us, asking the customer for a referring source each time again, it would be like asking their name over and over. If you really want to know, the answer is indeed to make it required.

    @all:
We’re open to changes that would make everything better, but it must have use for a lot of users. If you’re also a user needing the admin option Tinnyfusion is suggesting , give a heads up for this feature or make an issue on our Github repository for it. If enough people really want it, we’d probably implement it.
If it’s a custom solution or feature that is needed, we’re open for any (paid) customisations. In that case you can contact us here.

@siteoptimo: I installed the latest WordPress version (2.5) and now the first issue seems to work again (I can see the entries in the backend).

But regarding the “If I uncheck “Allow “other” option?” there’s no change/effect on the front end.” it’s still not working. As you can see people can choose “Sonstiges” (German for “other”) from the dropdown list though the “Sonstiges” field is already displayed. I cannot change that behaviour.

    (1. I want the “Sonstiges” field only to appear when people choose “Sonstiges” from dropdown – or
    2. There should be no “Sonstiges” in dropdown but only the “Sonstiges” field below.
Currently it’s both at the same time. And if I uncheck “Other” the “Sonstiges” field is still there.)

Hi, my initial reply was valid as I was having what I thought to be the same issue. However, after checking the change log I realised that the plugin was not broken and you had simply changed it’s functionally.

My second post was not a question but more an answer for anyone else that may find this thread.

I also agree that it does not make sense to keep asking the same question over and over again. The only reason I asked if it is possible to enable it all of the time is so that I could see the changes I am planning to the CSS without having to keep creating dummy users just to see it again.

    Thanks for your helps
