    Is the plugin activated? Did you change your theme?

    Yes, it′s activated.

    No, I didn′t change the theme – but the theme itself had sevaral updates meanwhile…

    I cannot switch the theme due to issues with a multisite setup for this theme. It′s the “Cardinal”-theme by swiftideas.

    Maybe the theme authors changed how the content is displayed. I’d recommend asking in the support forum of the theme if they are still using the the_content filter/function.

    In that case your plain text email addresses should be encoded, but they appear to be displayed outside those filters or hard-coded into the theme files.

    I’d recommend you ask your developer to see why your email addresses are not being encoded. You can read more about encoding other content in the FAQ under “How can I filter other parts of my site?”
