Doesn't work after new update (Sep 5th 2014)

Hi Dinternational,

Nothing has changed in the plug-in except for the version compatibility number, and there’s nothing in the WordPress 4 update that would affect the functionality of the plugin.

Today I checked all the sites that I use it on (9 websites), and it functions the same as it always has.

That being said, perhaps there was another plugin you updated that is conflicting? If you could send me a link perhaps I could see something that might be causing the issue for you.

The plugin has worked just fine until today. Really love the plugin, its great!

But check this out – I run the Nordic Startup Jobs website (www.nordicstartupjobs.com) and every new job post gets posted to our Facebook page. Have a look at it here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nordic-Startup-Jobs/505808686219012?sk=posts_to_page&notif_t=share_wall_create

You can see that the Berlin-based job I just posted today, doesnt show the thumbnail, compared the ones posted earlier this week, before the update.

(Btw: To post the job post on facebook I just press the “share” button on the actual job post).

When I run the facebook-debugger, I get the following

It basically says that the:
og:type and og:url doesn’t exist…?

Though I can’t think of a reason why, it looks like Facebook is at fault. It’s been known to happen. Maybe the scraper recognised you’re on a different version of WordPress and needed to be forced to re-index. But I’m speculating there.

Anyway, simply hitting the ‘Fetch new scrape information’ button on the FB debugger page forces FB to get the new info from your site, and now it’s perfectly fine: https://goo.gl/R4XuHM

As mentioned the output of my plug-in has not changed, and FB reports no open graph errors (even the one you mentioned).

Bear in mind that any existing posts you have on Facebook that are showing the wrong thumbnails will continue to show them as such, and you’ll need to either just live with that or delete the posts and add them again (not that FB has the latest scrape info it should be fine for all future posts).
