• I created a FSE custom theme using Blockbase theme. I then ran your plugin. I then created a child theme. Lastly I imported the file from your plugin, but although it says it was successful, it has done nothing to any of the templates etc.

    Am I missing something?

    WordPress 5.9.

    Hi,

The plugin is not intended to be used for importing child themes, so in this respect it will do nothing.

The plugin is useful for when you have edited the templates, template parts, or global styles in the site editor, and then you want to copy those modifications over to a different site without needing to manually recreate your design in the site editor of the new website.

If I have misunderstood what you are trying to do with your child themes, please let me know and I’ll do my best to help.

Also doesn’t work exporting Templates, Template Parts, and settings from Alara FSE theme to Twenty Twenty Two theme on the same site. Is the plugin not able to do this?

I activated Alara theme, exported using your plugin, then switched to Twenty Twenty Two and imported the file. None of the Templates or Template Parts showed up.

    Hi Pieter @hartsook

No, the plugin will not move templates or parts from one theme to another. It was never intended to do this.

When you have an active block theme and then use the Site Editor to edit the templates, parts and styles, these are tied to that particular theme.

This plugin is intended to be used for when editing templates, parts and styles in a particular theme on a website (e.g. a testing/local/staging or even a different production site) and then copying those templates, parts and styles over to another website without needing to recreate your design again from scratch in the Site Editor of a new/different site.
