    Huge mistake upgrading. I should have known after the previous update that automatically activated a feature that I didn’t want that I ought not trust it.

    “robots.txt” file exists, delete and import. Deletes the file, but doesn’t import it.

    I wonder what else it screwed up.

    Sad to see a good piece of software turn into a bloated over-designed piece of junk.

  • Been experiencing the same problem for over a month now. Today I now get “Invalid Phone Number for Knowledge Graph” despite correct formatting.

    Here we get all our sites broken after v4.0.7 update (no menus, no posts, no pages, all dissapreared and only shows some mixed titles one on top the other, but all the page white). Plus adding that at this version schema.org is now a paid/pro option…

    @cdgweb,

    Thanks for your feedback. We’d love to understand a little more about the issues you are having with the robots.txt file so we can fix it for you. If you can post the contents here, we’d love to replicate it on our end to see what the issue might be and include it in our next update.

    Also, you mentioned a feature that was automatically activated. Our migration should have left everything in place, can you explain what that feature was so we can take a closer look?

    @west-bay-web,

    For the phone number issue, the notice is just regarding the fact that the import from version 3 couldn’t format it properly. If you are seeing that it is in fact correct in your settings, you can safely dismiss/ignore the notice. We mainly wanted to bring to your attention that it could be different so you have the opportunity to correct it.

    @ibiza69,

    I’m sorry to hear about the issue with the update, this is the first we’ve had any reports like that. Do you have any errors in the log that you would be able to share with us so we can see what the cause might be?

    The feature that was automatically activated (a month or two ago) was the sitemap. I was already running a sitemap plugin (on all 80 sites that I manage), AIOSEO even notified me of that, so y’all knew what you were doing but chose to auto-activate that function. Bad manners to assume I’d want to replace something I’d already configured.

    Other than the blank screen and no ability to actually edit or enter the robots.txt information and the deletion of the robots.txt file I’m not having the insane issues of whole pages being broken and uneditable.

    Most of my sites are using Genesis theme or Beaver Builder theme.

    I get that you’re looking to make money, but alienating long-time users isn’t going to do it.

    @cdgweb,

    Thanks for the follow up!

    I’m not sure if we communicated it to you back then but the automatic enabling of the sitemap was a bug, and one that we rolled back very quickly with an additional update, but at that point the damage would have been done.

    Our intention was to enable it by default for NEW installs, not existing ones.

    I’m glad you are not having some of the other more obscure issues! For the robots.txt file, I’m wondering if our import script was unable to parse it correctly which is why it wouldn’t have shown up. That’s why I was hoping to see what you had in your static file so we could continue to troubleshoot.
