• Great idea, and would have suited what I am looking for. However, getting the following error when uploading private media:-

Please check the following URL to make sure it is private for non-logged in users. It appears to be viewable to the public (it does not return a HTTP status code of 403).

    I Tried rewriting htaccess.

When logged in as a subscriber – who is opted to view and upload private media, they are not able to view or upload.

    Hi,

What does the subscriber see when they visit the url of the private media?

Also when viewing the settings page, Settings -> WP Private Media, What do you see under the “Status” header at the top of the page?

Anyone can see the private media, logged in or not.

All good! Your .htaccess file looks good.

    Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I’m finding a lot of servers cache or don’t look at the .htaccess file on every single request. I’m pretty sure there’s no way around this besides doing some server configurations that might compromise loading times. So I think I’ll be deleting this plugin soon.

That would be a total shame. Keep at it, if you can.
    Many thanks anyway.
