Thank you for getting in touch, I’m very sorry to hear you’ve had this experience with the plugin.
Please use the address field in Maps -> Edit -> Markers to enter marker addresses – if you were previously blocked from using this field, we released a patch today that solves this problem. My apologies if this was the case, we’ve been making some significant changes to integrate Open Street Map following Google’s recent policy change, as such a few issues have emerged. My humble apologies for any inconvenience caused here.
Regarding that policy change, I’m afraid the Google API will be a paid service as of June 11th. You receive $200 worth of requests free each month, but it does appear that they are going to make entering billing details mandatory.
