• Followed the (limited) directions. Allowed access to my (personal???) FB info. Nothing happened. Can’t select which page I want to use for the display. Nothing displays in the widget – not even the title.

    Hello,

    Could you check following:

    1. In the browser enabled cookies for external websites;

    2. Your account on Facebook has admin rights for page (it’s required to get reviews by FB API);

    3. Go to the https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications and check there’s have ‘WidgetPack’ application or not?

    Except of this forum, you can send all of this information to [email protected] to speed up the solution of the problem.

    Thanks!

    1) Tried using my standard browser window rather than my normal secure browsing window when I was trouble shooting it on my own.

    2) My account has admin access to all of the pages I manage.

    3) I went to that page, there is nothing on that page with the title “WidgetPack”.

    I appreciate you trying to get it to work, but it’s starting to sound like that in order for me to get working, I have to sacrifice security on my own access account to make it happen.

    Hello,

    According to item 3, you didn’t allow our application to access to Facebook token to get reviews from Facebook.

    With a probability of 99%, the problem is that in your browser disabled cookies for external website or you were disagree WidgetPack app permission after clicking of ‘Connect to Facebook’ button.

    In order to make this plugin work, you need to enable cookies for external sites and try to click again on the ‘Connect to Facebook’ button in the widget, then in the opened window to agree WidgetPack application.

    By the way, in the plugin description we have information about the request of this right: Keep in mind that plugin requests Facebook permission manage_pages to read your page reviews and show it in the widget.

    This request of permission is absolutely safe and secure, because our WidgetPack application doesn’t get private information, this app get only Facebook token to have possibility to get reviews by this token according to Facebook API: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/page/ratings/

    And by the way:

    1. This is the only legal way to get Facebook Page Reviews and show them on the site;

    2. Before release of this plugin we expected from Facebook about two weeks the permission to use manage_pages right, I mean that our application is completely legal and there was no one case of any problems with use it.

    Thanks!

    You can also register new one Facebook account and give him the admin right to your Facebook Page. Then click by ‘Connect to Facebook’ button under this new one account with admin right and agree ‘WidgetPack’ application.

    In this way, you will give the access to your personal account, but simply grant permission to read reviews from another account.

    Please let me know how that goes.

    Thanks!
