• This plugin doesn’t appear to subscribe new wordpress users if they are added by the wordpress admin. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

I’ve found a solution, though it requires a third party and another plugin to work.

Using zapier.com and the Hookpress plugin for wordpress, I’ve created a “zap” that listens for a webhook to activate then sends the new wordpress user email to another webhook connected to my Sendy subscribe url.

Sign up at zapier.com and use this link for the zap: https://zpr.io/gJ3m and install the Hookpress plugin.

Step one: Copy the webhook url from the first step when creating your zap.

Step two: Add a new webhook using the Hookpress plugin and paste the url from step one. Action = user_register, fields = user_email.

Step three: Continue to configure your zap. In step 5, enter your Sendy subscribe url. Should be something like https://domain.com/subscribe

Step four: Test and turn zap on.

Step five: Hassle-free automation — make a margarita, you’re done.

If you need help with this setup, feel free to respond to this post.

  • Is this possible to do without giving Zapier my wordpress login details? I can’t give it to them for security reasons and we use Google authenticator anyway so even if I wanted to it wouldn’t work.

Doesn’t make sense to me that they would need a login if the purpose of the hooks is to send data to a Zapier URL anyway.
