    Hi,

I recently updated to WP 4.1 and the plugin no longer displays the live event. It shows the ‘No live stream at the moment’ text even though an event is streaming. The fun (!) part is, that if I’m logged in to WP, the stream shows as it should.

I suspect that WP 4.1 (or a plugin or the webserver or the clients browser) does some sort of caching so the browser displays an ‘old’ cached page instead of a page embedding the stream. By loggin in to WP the page is served correctly.

If you can reproduce this problem and device a workaround, please do. Otherwise please remember this when updating the plugin to support WP 4.1 ??

For now, I will have to redirect the user to YouTube for viewing the live event ??

Was your post in the other thread indicating that this problem is now resolved for you?

What other post? To my knowledge I only posted this…

    My bad.

Have you cleared your site’s cache since updating?

I suggest that you set your live page to either not cache, or that you clear its cache whenever your live feed updates.

This plugin does not have any built-in caching, but is susceptible to your site’s own caching. Thus, if your site caches the page when you have no live events, that’s what will display immediately after you create a live event. However, clear the cache, and that live even should display.

This is why you see the stream when you’re logged in, but not when you’re logged out. Logged in users are usually excluded from being served cached data.

Yes, I was suspecting it to be a caching problem, however I did not use a caching plugin. Thought perhaps WP 4.1 introduced some sort of caching, that the plugin wasn’t aware of since the problems seemed to start after the update.

Thanks for the reply. I will seek the solution elsewhere.

Who is your web host and what is the URL of the page in question?

My web host is a danish company called Internet123 at https://www.i123.dk

    The URL is: https://www.hopin.dk/medie/school-of-heaven

I have testet a bit the last hour. I have installed and activated WP Super Cache and excluded the streaming page from the cache and have not been able to make it fail again. I consider the problem solved, but You are welcome to take a look.
