    Hello…
For some reason, one of my wordpress sites isn’t sending notification e-mails.
My other sites, on the same host, are sending them, just fine.
Below is the error that I’m getting.

    Module: Notification Center
    Type: Error
    Description: Sending Notification Failed
    Notification: Database Backup
Error: Could not instantiate mail function.
    Timestamp: 2024-10-12 10:10:44
    IP Address:173.218.31.215
    User: doubleJ
    URL:https://krisjackson.org/wp-json/ithemes-security/v1/dashboards/5324/cards/database-backup/5327/backup?_locale=user

    Any help would be appreciated…
    JJ

Hi @fa310tx, really sorry for the slow turnaround here!

That error means that something has failed on the?wp_mail()?function that caused the notification not to be sent.?

In this case, I suggest checking with your hosting provider to see if they have disabled the wp_mail() function on your server. If it’s disabled, please have them enable it.

Kindly note that WordPress plugins, in general, only generates the emails, but delivery is up to your mailing server. WP has different email delivery methods: PHP Mail or an SMTP server. By default, WP uses the PHP Mail method unless you configure SMTP to handle your emails.

We wrote a helpful guide on how you can troubleshoot email delivery issues here. ?

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes.
