    I installed the plugin without issue, and I changed the text in the Reading Settings (under “Message to display for Password Protected content”). I clicked to save the settings and see the confirmation that the settings were saved. However, the text is the default text on the password-protected page.

    It’s likely that your theme’s custom function.php file is overriding it. I had the same problem and did a search for “password” in my theme’s function.php file and was able to just edit it there.
