• EDIT to 5-star rating due to responsiveness of the dev!!!

This was exactly what I had hoped for: a simple, way to add a one-line banner message to my websites… except it doesn’t work (reliably) with Divi from Elegant Themes. To be fair, it might work with Divi given enough time and CSS experimentation (using the Divi suggestions provided by the plug-in author, and more) but after about 20 minutes of trial-n-error I cannot get it to work in combination with Divi’s function to “hide header until scroll.” Then again, neither does any other “banner” plug-in I’ve tried, where that Divi setting is used. Yes, I can use the Divi Theme Builder itself to create a custom layout with an extra “banner” section at the top of the header – and that’s a hassle I don’t need for the 40-50 sites I manage. Thus my quest for a simple banner solution continues… Giving this one 3-stars for a pretty good backend implementation – it just won’t work with Divi in my particular config state.

Hey @klynam, that divi suggestion in my FAQ may actually be a bit outdated, I put it there a few years ago when I got an influx of support threads with Divi issues. If you open a support ticket I can take a look at your setup and provide a solution that works.

The plug-in author has been very communicative about this issue, and says the PRO version has a function to fix it. Unfortunately, I don’t like the idea of having to pay for compatibility with one of the leading theme frameworks in the world. So for now, it seems fair and accurate to say the core (free) version of the Simple Banner plug-in simply doesn’t work well with Divi.

Based on the authors enthusiasm and determination to support his product and users, I’m optimistic that the core (free) version of Simple Banner will soon be compatible with Divi.

This has been fixed in version 2.16.0. You can now use Simple Banner with your Divi header by setting the “Prepend element” setting to “header”. Thanks again @klynam for bringing up this issue!

Yes, the dev was VERY responsive and accommodating to this request. Technically, being able to affect the position of the simple banner within the header is a PRO (paid) feature, but it DOES now work within the Divi header, even when “show header after scroll” is enabled, which is where most all of these banner plug-ins fail on the Divi theme. With appreciation and now a modified rating !!!
