Doesn't open in same frame

I’ve tried this plugin and one other similar one on a brand-new install of 3.4.2…
Neither will open an external page within the WP frame – always it opens a new window, whether that option is checked or not.
Can see the nascent WP site at https://www.kingofthehill.org/wp
The Forums page is what should be showing a phpbb forum within the WP page frame – but it always launches a new window.
Any help?
