Doesn’t load german translation (.po/.mo) files

Since the new main version 4.x the german translations (.po/.mo files) are no longer downloaded.

This is happening for two reasons:

1. The german language pack from www.remarpro.com is incomplete, and so WordPress won’t download it automatcally.
2. Starting WPP version 4.0, I removed the included german .po/.mo files for the same reason: they were way too outdated and there’s no one who can help maintain it (I would but unfortunately I don’t speak german).

If you want to help:

• Help translate the german language pack from www.remarpro.com, or
• Share your .po file with me and I may include it with the plugin.

When I manually upload them to the plugin folder, then they are deleted again after every new update.

Check this FAQ: “I want to translate your plugin into my language / help you update a translation. What do I need to do?”, last paragraph ??

Sorry for the late reply, but thanks a lot for your fast answer!

I didn’t know that WordPress will not load the language pack, if it is not complete. In this case, I really only need the translations of 2 strings (“views” and “comments” within the widgets), so I don’t really mind that the translation is incomplete.

So I uploaded the files to /wp-content/languages/plugins/ and that’s it. Sorry I missed this in the FAQ ??
