Doesn't exclude categories

This plugin is not excluding categories
I am using the coderange=daily&limit=70&post_type=post&order_by=views&stats_comments=0&cats_to_exclude=53,55
but it is not working (the ids are just examples)
It is showing posts from the excluded categories too. Why?thank you
