    Hello,

What error occurred when you tried to generate a key on the target site?

Alternatively, kindly proceed with the instructions below to migrate your site using the upload feature.

    1. Create a backup of your source site and download it to your desktop.

    2. Upload the backup to the /wp-content/wpvividbackups directory of your target site. You can utilize the Upload feature within WPvivid, an FTP client, or cPanel file manager.

    3. Click on the “Scan uploaded backups and received backups ” button to detect and display the uploaded backup in the backup list. Then, proceed with the restoration process on your target site.

Additionally, it is advised that you refrain from deleting the source site until you have confirmed that all functions are operating correctly on the new site.

After that, let us know if the site migration is successful.

    Kind regards.

    Hi @nicholas2019

I did the backup of the old website via wpvivid migration plugin

Then I tried to upload the backup onto wp-content/wpvividbackups of the target website but it failed (several times had this error popping up “file not found”)

Also I noticed that wpvivid migration plugin works on the old website but it doesn’t on the target website (for example I clicked, as a test, on generate a key on the old website and the key was generated)

also the plugin on my target website looks broken everywhere (the icons within wpvivid migration plugin are not visible) I attached screenshots about this

should i deactivate some plugins like wordfence or some options before I start the migration process via wpvivid?

should I wait the 8 hours so the key I generated from the old website as a test expires before I do anything else?

    Let me know soon, thanks

    Hello @madleine

Is that a WordPress multisite network?

If so, please note that the free version does not support WordPress multisite.

    All the best,

    Hello,

    Option 1: Reinstall WPvivid:

For a quicker resolution, you can try reinstalling the WPvivid plugin on your target site. However, before proceeding, it’s crucial to confirm that all functionalities on the site are working as expected. If you encounter any issues, proceed to option 2.

Option 2: Fresh WordPress Install and Restore:

If reinstalling the plugin doesn’t seem feasible due to malfunctioning website functionalities, we recommend performing a fresh WordPress installation on your target site. After setting up the new installation, install the WPvivid plugin and initiate the restoration process.

You don’t have to wait 8 hours for the key to expire to do other things.
