    Hi,

The EmbedPlus player uses the native play button that YouTube provides. Therefore, the normal play count behavior is followed — that is, it’s tracked like a regular embed. Here are a few things to read:

    1) https://developers.google.com/youtube/flash_api_reference#Playback_controls
There, you’ll see the text: “Note: A playback only counts toward a video’s official view count if it is initiated via a native play button in the player.”

    Also…
    2) https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/youtube-api-gdata/ZZWcKmfFUvM

See Jeff’s (From YouTube) discussion: ” If playback is initiated by direct user interaction on controls that are part of the YouTube player SWF, such as the playback button that overlays a cued video or the play button in the control bar, then the video’s play count will be incremented.”

As far as the feature request of showing YouTube comments from the Reactions page right below the video, it seems like it would create a space issue. Perhaps we’ll add hooks to export that content in the future.

Actually I found a plugin to display youtube comments as comments to my posts. It’s called Genki Youtube Comments. Thanks for answering my other questions about Youtube view counts. I like your plugin a lot, keep up the great work.

Thanks for the complement! We’re planning some interesting things for the near future.
