Does your free plugin work on MultiSite networks?

    I am creating a WP MultiSite Website As A Service (WAAS) business.

    Your service looks great!
    I want to install the plugin as the SuperAdmin and enable it for all sites.
    Each individual site owner (seperate domains mostly, some subdomains of the main site) will need to register with your service, get their own API key and enable whatever target language they want on their site.

    Would that work?
    Do you have any feedback from MultiSite network operators about how well your software runs?

    Thanks for your inquiry!

    The plugin works on the per domain basis. Each new domain needs a separate API key (if it is a FREE plan). So, if you intend to stay under the radar and utilize the free plan(s) to the max, register a new account for each new domain you want to use. You will need a separate email address for each account on conveythis.com though. So, that’s a lot of work. But, people do remarkable things when its free, right?

    The multisite optioins begin with PRO, PRO+ and Enterprise plans. If you intend to make money, it may make sense to register for ENTERPRISE plan and see where it takes you. With 10,000,000 machine words and 10M page views you will have plenty of fire power to cross sell and re-sell conveythis.com technology to other merchants. No other competitors offers as much value as us in this niche.

    Thanks for the sales info but this is actually a TECHNICAL question.
    I want to know if your plugin still functions when WordPress is configured for WP Multi-Site mode.

    In case you are not familiar, it means that the plugin is installed ONCE by a network “super admin” and then the “admins” for each individual site (which are DNS mapped to new domains) can configure or optionally disable the plugin on their own site.

    YES, that means each site owner on the network will need to get their own API key. Some of them might choose to create a PAID account. Some might stick with a free account.

    But it’s all academic if the plugin fails when installed on WP Multi-Site.
    Since this (WAAS) is a growing trend in the WordPress community it would be profitable for ConveyThis to confirm that their product DOES in fact work as expected in this environment.

    This is a new feature and we are asked about it for the first time.
    Since we haven’t tested it in the multisite mode, we will need a way to test it.

    Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

    If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

    Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us escalating this to the plugins team.

    It’s never necessary to do that. Here’s why.

    There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

    Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

    It’s not exactly difficult for your dev team to set up a simple WordPress Multi-Site and test it locally.

    And btw, WordPress MultiSite has been an available feature of WordPress since June 17, 2010, WordPress Version 3.0.
