Does Yoast still ping Google and Bing?

  • Hi,

    I’m trying to figure out if WordPress SEO by Yoast still ping’s the site’s sitemap to Google and Bing? If so, is this a one-time thing or will it re-ping the sitemap whenever new content is created on the site?

    In a previous version of this plugin it noted that it did indeed ping Google and Bing while also allowing you to also have it ping Yahoo and Ask. This is now gone.

  • Now, Yoast does not have options to ping yahoo.com and ask.com under the xml sitemap.These options are of no use because Yahoo has moved to bing and ask.com has shutdown the service. I guess, That is why they have removed the options.
