Does WordPress use the php_exif PHP extension?

My SonicWALL has been blocking external traffic to WordPress due to it having a rule for a vulnerability for a potential attack via PHP EXIF buffer overflow.

I have come to learn that this hasn’t been fixed until PHP 5.6 and my server is running an older version of PHP.

I just want to simply disable the php_exif extension in php.ini but I want to know if WordPress uses this before I do that, because I do not want to create more problems by doing so.
