  • You can place it in folder of any name or actually in the root with no name at all.

    Just do not change the names of the subfolders.

    Thank you! I am just trouble shooting and trying figure out while my pages “stall” out (to the tune of 10mins) when modifying a post.

    I don’t keep it there at all. The folder on the server for my site contains the WP files right there. Only folders are wp-admin, wp-content, wp-includes.
    Wordpress will ignore anything there that it doesn’t need.
