    Hey everyone,

I have a site that has random excluded files in the uploads folder. I removed them and now different excluded files are in the list. It was about a month between me clearing the excluded list and the new items. They are all in the uploads folder but not the current year.

My question is, does wordfence in any circumstance add files to the excluded list on its own? Maybe a file it can’t scan or hangs the scanner?

Hi @johnbairdconsulting, thanks for reaching out.

Are these added under the setting  “Exclude files from scan that match these wildcard patterns (one per line)”  in Wordfence> Scan> Scan Options and Scheduling> Advanced Scan Options?

If so, Wordfence does not add folders automatically to this section.

Wordfence automatically adds  the directories wp-content/cache and  wp-content/wflogs under  Wordfence> All Options> List of directories to exclude from recently modified file list because file modifications in these folders are normal and frequent.

    Thanks,

    Mark.
