Unlike many other “Missed Schedule” plugins for WordPress, this plugin doesn’t run on every page load, slowing down load times for visitors.
Instead this plugin uses the wp-cron.php framework to run in the background – it adds a hook called called ‘missed_schedule_cron’ to run a method called ‘missed_schedule()’ every every 5 minutes.
