Does what it says, but lacks true usefulness

  • It will let me send a message to Slack saying when a new download package, or membership package has been created. But not when one has been purchased/downloaded. It will allow me to send a message saying a new post or new page has been created, and gives author name, categories, tags, but no option to include excerpt.

    I still use this plug-in, however. I have a private channel on slack, and this plug-in sends me a message there whenever a new user signs up, so now I know to send them a slack invite. One step further could be to allow automated invites based on new user sign up/purchase/etc. I would pay for these features.

    There’s dozens of different things this plug-in could be capable of, but the job is only halfway finished.

    I’m sorry to hear that you don’t find the plugin as useful as you want.
    I don’t think that a rating of 2 out of 5 is justified, however this is for you to decide.

    About the issues you mentioned, you need to understand that developing a plugin is not something that can be as flex as you want, I can’t integrate with every plugin there is and offer notifications for them.

    On version 2.0 i’ve added some actions and filters that allows you to develop a “sub-plugin” of your own which will integrate with my plugin and extend it.

    In the upcoming major release of the plugin there will be an ability to customize the notification message and select which meta data (author, excerpt etc…) will be sent.

    I hope you understand and will continue using this plugin.
