@funsail – Sorry to hear you felt that way. To be honest though we and most of our users feel the exact opposite. Which leaves me wondering if we somehow failed to demonstrate what the free version can actually do which is totally on us.
The free version handles both of the most common trigger types, time delay & click open. It also sounds like you didn’t find our theme editor which is basically a live customizer for changing the looks of the popups (the white overlay you mentioned can be adjusted to any color or opacity for instance). Nearly everything is customizable in this plugin.
That said we do hold back some features that users often want, but without doing that we would likely not be able to sustain active development for the plugin as a whole. If we only charged for things nobody wanted we wouldn’t be able to do this full time, which includes providing a lot of free support.
I’m glad you found another solution for your needs. But would love for you to take another look and possibly update the rating if you feel its warranted.
