Does update invalidate posts with old shortcode?

Changelog of latest version details change to shortcode format. But no indication if ‘old style’ shortcodes will need to be changed globally, or if old style shortcodes in old posts will still work properly.

Relucatant to update without knowing if the update will break older posts with the old shortcode style.
